Trip Planning

Steps to follow in planning your Border Ministry Mission Trip

Contact the Presbyterian Border Ministry office in San Antonio and you will be sent: a Resource Manual for Mission Team Leaders, informational brochure on all mission sites, an orientation video called “ Mission without Barriers” and an interactive video named “So you are going on a Mission Trip.” You should also order the video “Planning an Excellent Adventure” from the PCUSA Worldwide Ministries Division.

Review all materials sent to you. Begin meeting with your group. It is important to understand the full meaning and reason for going on a mission trip. A deeper understanding will lead to a more moving and enriching experience. Mission trips are not glorified tourism, nor are they strictly work camps.

Decide which of the seven project sites to visit. Call or write the site of your choice to arrange further details. They will send you their own particular orientation packet. You will arrange directly with them the specifics of your time of interaction with congregations in Mexico.
